Today was Dan's LAST day of school for his BFA program! I am so proud of him! Year 1 is down and now he has nothing but painting and drawing to look forward to. We don't know what his grades are yet, but he probably got all A's again! I love my husband!
List are easier than trying to write a narrative:
**I am husband-less for at least a week while Dan is in EP visiting his grandpa and family. I'm going to be sooooo bored without him, but I'm so glad he has time to be with his family. Both of our family's have been having a lot of health issues lately.
**Life for me has been the most hectic. Most days I'm not sure how I make it. I've been real good about complaining about it too. :) That's probably not so great, but I am basically burnt out. 5 more weeks....I can handle it.
**Prom went SWELL.
**Track season has been AMAZING!! The whole team has done great, but I am especially proud of my hurdlers. I could brag about them forever. Most of you have already heard all about it. :) Unfortunately we've been pretty sick and injured the last two weeks, so districts tomorrow might be a struggle. But I'm confident my hurdlers will dominate and make it to the state meet next week! :)
**We've mostly decided to stay in our apartment again. We've too busy to even look for house, despite being mentally, financially and emotionally ready to buy a house. Oh well...we love Wilsonville and our apartment is pretty nice, so we'll stick it out another year and save.
** A new car is on our list of summer purchases!! Poor Dan has had it rough all year with his commute. Any recommendations on new cheap, efficient cars would be appreciated!
** I will most likely be in EP for half of June/July as I take care of my Nana. She has to have knee replacement surgery and I get to take care of her! I'm actually looking forward to spending some time with her and relaxing. I'll also be taking book recommendations as I plan to do lots of reading!
** Today I worked out...for the first time in 3 months. I even tried to hurdle...it was ridiculous and awful but wonderful at the same time. How did I forget that working out is a stress-reliever? No wonder I've been a mess the past 3 months!!
** I'm nearly done teaching: I can't believe this was 1 year ago. I've almost survived my first year at JFK. I'm ready to be done, but I'm already thinking about how I'm going to teach next year. I should totally get paid more for this....
**Check out Dan's art blog (link on the sidebar) if you haven't already. He has some more recent school projects up. I'm biased, but I think it's amazing!

i was just thinking how lucky you are to have the whole summer off...maybe teaching is the right profession for me...
oh ps. you asked about my trick for lighting- the best lighting is in the evening. you can control it. we should get together and shoot someday, if we're ever in the same state...
Sounds like you guys are doing well. That is exciting that Dan is done with his first year! We really really really need to get together! We are most likely having our baby on June 1st (I am being induced and it is only a little over 2 weeks away:) so we will have to get together after that. Glad you are almost done with your first year teaching school...you really do deserve more money!
And a book recommendation: The Hunger Games (I borrowed it from Emily and loved it!) I am about to start the second one!
