Homemade swaddle wraps

Somehow I've managed to continue my crafting ADHD and squeezed in making these lovely little swaddle wrap blankets on a snow day. I've been eyeing up gauzy swaddlers like these from Aden + Anais, but I'm not about to spend $50 on them! Thankfully, one of my favorite blogs, inspired me to simply make my own!

I really like how they turned out. I found the coral pink color on clearance at Joann's and then hand dyed the purple one from white. I also dyed a lot of other hand-me-down baby clothes that friends have given us. It was a pretty relaxing, but productive day!

Here's the growing baby bump at 30 weeks! :)

Baby Belly: 28 weeks

Little Amelia sure is growing and growing...my big belly is definitely proof of that!  I love all the kicks and jabs I get ALL DAY (and night)! She sure is an active little one!

At this point, I've successfully put on about 20lbs, which I am pretty darn proud of. Sounds strange, but I've always struggled to gain weight, so I'm happy to finally put on a couple extra pounds (assuming most of it comes right off post-delivery!) :) Dan makes me feel better and says he can hardly tell I've gained weight. :)

I'm so blessed to be as active and busy as I am at nearly 30 weeks and not have any complications. It's definitely draining teaching teenagers all day and then spending 2 hrs on the track in the cold rain or wind. But I love my job and I'm excited for Amelia to join our family, so it's worth any exhaustion I'm feeling. I also just found out that my iron is low, so I'm hoping the extra supplements I'm now taking will perk me up! :)

We are also looking into getting some maternity photos taken- Dan is a super fab photographer, but I would like some of the both of us. Wish my amazing cousin was here to take them.....

Spring Gardening

Really really miss this...

Gardening season is finally getting underway.
There is a lot of stuff growing under my lights in my classroom. A little is for my own garden, most is for our school greenhouse spring garden sale and some seeds are my co-workers.

And, I've already nearly killed my kale.

Wish it was sunnier and warmer outside....

Antique chair

Dan found this awesome antique chair for $50 a month or so ago. It's super comfy, but I just had to do something about the yellow fabric.

The retro yellow plush is actually pretty cool. But the old, musty factor of an antique fabric kinda creeped me out. Especially with a newborn.

So I decided to make some easy slip covers in a similar yellow patterned fabric. This is so easy to do with elastic!

Now it's sitting in the nursery, ready for calming a crying baby girl (or mom!) and late night feedings. :)

Super deals @ GAP!

Don't you love it when you get a good deal?
Whenever I save a bunch of $$ I always want to tell someone because I'm so excited that I've outwitted corporate businesses (okay....it's more likely that I've just succumbed, to them but ssshhh sssshhhh!)

Anyways, no one is nearly as impressed as I feel they SHOULD BE when I tell them my amazing steals. Thus, I'll subject all my blog readers to my good finds.

Here goes:

Just purchased from GAP- 3 pairs of leggings, both maternity and athletic (like the ones above) and an adorable baby onesie for....$36 + free shipping. I should have paid $110+ shipping. Saving around $80!

AMAZING!
**Sound the bells**

Okay - so the baby bodysuit is a splurge.

BUT. I seriously need the leggings. Track season starts on Monday (wahoo!) and there is no way my older warm athletic tights fit anymore! They were already tight, add in 13lbs+ (and growing!) and it's a hot mess. I get really cold while coaching, so these will help a lot.

The other tights....well, it's a good alternative to any pants that button or zip (as virtually every pair I own does not fit or is now uncomfortable). I'll  likely wear them the most with skirts/dresses, which  lately is the only thing comfortable that I can wear to work.

Love it all.
