We've been having such a good time this summer, that I haven't done any monthly Amelia updates. It's not that she's not growing, it's just that she's growing too fast to keep track of all the new things she does every day, let alone each month. It's not uncommon for her to say new words every day or do some hilarious stunt to get our attention.
Most days we hang around playing with toys and tickling each other.
But this girl has some fierce independence. As kids this age do. I love this shot below. Is it ok to love pictures of your babies screaming their little heads off? Because I do.
This girl wanted to put on her own damn shoe.
We should have let her, ya know?
But then I wouldn't have this lovely gem to show her first boyfriend (you know...to warn him of what's to come).
This glorious photo aside, she really is the sweetest girl.
She sure is a watch-learn-do kind of girl.
At 15 (almost 16!) months old her current favorite hobbies include:
Snacking on anything and everything
Playing with dad. Especially long boarding. Or playing hide and seek.
Wearing awesome outfits.
Reading books (Little Blue Truck is her ultimate favorite)
Running. Stomping her left foot.
Shrieking. Giggling.
Carrying her blankie all around the house (is she going to get super attached to that thing?!)
Shutting doors all by herself (well, make that doing anything all by herself)
Helping (or not helping) mom with laundry.
Most frequently said words: "maaaam" "Go, go, go" "Look!" "dog" "uh-oh"
Making funny noises
Giving kisses....
Kissing dogs -- ok...she's obsessed with this! I can't believe I don't have a picture of her and Lily. She LOVES dogs. And Lily is so patient with her.
Attempting to wink, ie a slow wink with both eyes.
Picking any red fruit (rasbberries, strawberries and tomatoes)
Growing hair VERY SLOWLY, only in the back.
Playing harmonica
Listening to Lil Wayne with dad. She has a serious head nod going when music starts playing. I always try and record it, but I'm laughing too hard.
But she's still quite the Mama's girl.
You can always find her sucking her thumb and getting kisses from Dad.
We are looking forward to all that the rest of her 2nd year brings...you know before those terrible twos start and all.
