Spring Gardening

Really really miss this...

Gardening season is finally getting underway.
There is a lot of stuff growing under my lights in my classroom. A little is for my own garden, most is for our school greenhouse spring garden sale and some seeds are my co-workers.

And, I've already nearly killed my kale.

Wish it was sunnier and warmer outside....

Antique chair

Dan found this awesome antique chair for $50 a month or so ago. It's super comfy, but I just had to do something about the yellow fabric.

The retro yellow plush is actually pretty cool. But the old, musty factor of an antique fabric kinda creeped me out. Especially with a newborn.

So I decided to make some easy slip covers in a similar yellow patterned fabric. This is so easy to do with elastic!

Now it's sitting in the nursery, ready for calming a crying baby girl (or mom!) and late night feedings. :)

Super deals @ GAP!

Don't you love it when you get a good deal?
Whenever I save a bunch of $$ I always want to tell someone because I'm so excited that I've outwitted corporate businesses (okay....it's more likely that I've just succumbed, to them but ssshhh sssshhhh!)

Anyways, no one is nearly as impressed as I feel they SHOULD BE when I tell them my amazing steals. Thus, I'll subject all my blog readers to my good finds.

Here goes:

Just purchased from GAP- 3 pairs of leggings, both maternity and athletic (like the ones above) and an adorable baby onesie for....$36 + free shipping. I should have paid $110+ shipping. Saving around $80!

AMAZING!
**Sound the bells**

Okay - so the baby bodysuit is a splurge.

BUT. I seriously need the leggings. Track season starts on Monday (wahoo!) and there is no way my older warm athletic tights fit anymore! They were already tight, add in 13lbs+ (and growing!) and it's a hot mess. I get really cold while coaching, so these will help a lot.

The other tights....well, it's a good alternative to any pants that button or zip (as virtually every pair I own does not fit or is now uncomfortable). I'll  likely wear them the most with skirts/dresses, which  lately is the only thing comfortable that I can wear to work.

Love it all.

Nursery projects

Each weekend I've been slowly working on a few nursery projects. It seems like I've done a lot, but looking back at pictures, it's not too much.

All I have left to do is find baskets for holding clothes, spray paint picture frames, decide on pictures/art and any other wall decorations. I also need to find a lamp.

Coral Ruffle for a grey bedskirt ($3 @ thrift store)
Changing pad cover (~$6 fabric) + changing pad (~$25)
You can also see the grey color that we used to re-purpose a piece of furniture. More on that later...
Ruched onesies. I think I'm going to dye this, possibly tiedye?
I'm trying my hardest to stay a way from pink, but it keeps showing up EVERYWHERE!
I guess that's what having a girl is going to be like....

Cloth diapers!

Just discovered Zulily and it looks like a great place to find deals on baby/mom related items.

Tonight, I bought 3 Charlie Banana cloth diapers that were on sale ($13.99, normally $20).

I am totally excited to cloth diaper, which is interesting because who is interested in changing poopy diapers???

I can't wait. Kinda weird.

There are a ton of really helpful websites and  youTube videos about how to make cloth diapering work. I've registered on Amazon for all my cloth diapers - mostly so I remember what I'd like to buy and because we have Amazon Prime (which is AMAZING!).

Also, I found a deal on cottonbabies.com to buy Flip cloth diaper covers, Buy 1, Get 1 Free! Plus, there is free shipping!

I wanted to wait awhile to buy my cloth diapers, but I just can't miss these deals.

Any one else cloth diaper and have any good tips/resources?
