What a week or two it has been for us here! We're mostly convinced that someone is out to get us. Most of the time we are very aware and grateful for our blessings, but lately it has been somewhat of a struggle. As a whole, things are going well for us. Dan of course is doing well in school and I love my school and my students. Yet here are just a FEW of the very annoying things that have happened to us lately:
- The coast guard sent us a letter saying we owed them $2,000 and we only had 4 days to figure out why and how to pay it before we go to collections. With not enough time to figure it out, we've had to pay it and hope things get figured out and we'll get the money back. So frustrating...
- After weeks of talking about his love for scooters and all things alternative transportation....Dan had a scooter accident in Portland that ended up with us at the ER until midnight Monday night, no dinner, my high heels on for 18hrs and 5 stitches in Dan's heel. We only got 3 hrs of sleep that night...
- On Monday night it took me 2 hrs to find Dan in Beaverton, while he almost bled to death at the train station. I felt so incredibly bad that he had to wait outside, bleeding and cold. :( I got ridiculously lost and now I am for sure going to get an iPhone with GPS....
- My c key fell off my keyboard...I don't know what to do.
- Monday was an awful teaching day (along with all the other awfulness with Dan and his scooter)
There are other things, but those are the biggies right now. We are trying our hardest to be positive and notice all the good things.
- For one, Dan is doing amazing in school. His drawings keep getting better and better. We are hoping to take more pictures of his work so we can post it on our blog.
- I'm in Seattle right now, going to a 3 day conference, but it is kind of like a break from school and work. Free hotel and food!
- My school district kindly decided to give all the teachers a 1% increase in their pay because they ended up with a little bit more $$$$. This is absolutely unheard of in school districts, so I am so blessed to be working in Mt.Angel. I do love it there!
